Leica early v2 90mm Summicron rare version "black paint" 1959
This is one of the first production Black Anodized Leitz lenses. Special order for professional photographers that had a black paint M3, M2, or original MP M-series cameras and wanted a fast 90mm lens that matched. Maybe only 200 +/- of this black version was made (normal production was silver).
The main barrel and rings are black anodized, one brass ring and some screws are black paint. Early version with both Scalloped (ridged) focus and aperture rings! I used this lens professionally for decades. It has a unique and beautiful patina. If you appreciate this you will love this lens and its proud history.
Glass looks mostly clear, some dust, and maybe some light haze. I can not view any problem with the photo results. Beautiful image quality. There are 15 blades for the aperture! And bokeh is very nice!
It is working as it is, but a cleaning would make this perfect.
Thank you for looking
